Much like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles before it, Ninja Gaiden had to be renamed to comply with censorship laws of the time, becoming the somewhat less-cool-sounding Shadow Warriors. Aside from that, it was otherwise the same as its Ninja Gaiden counterpart, in which Ryu Hayabusa tries to avenge the death of his father and prevent an evil organisation from destroying the world.

While there was a bumper crop of Game Boy reviews to be read, alongside previews of games based on The Simpsons and WWF, the real big 'Sneak Peek' was of the third game in the Super Mario Bros. series. This game promised to be bigger and better than its predecessors, introducing new worlds, and new power-ups. The hype for SMB3's UK arrival had begun...
