Vol. 3 Issue 3

Volume 3 - Issue 3

The sequel to hit multiplayer dungeon-crawler Gauntlet was this issue's cover feature. Gameplay-wise, it was more of the same only with new levels and abilities. Thankfully, in the jump from arcade to NES, multiplayer was not compromised, as the game was one of few that used the NES Four Score accessory to allow four players to play together (other games to make use of this accessory included Nintendo World Cup, Super Off-Road, and RC Pro-Am II).

Dr. Mario also featured among the games reviewed in this issue. In this puzzle game, Mario swapped his dungarees for a white coat for some virus-busting. Another key puzzle game featured in this issue was a 'Sneak Peek' of A Boy and his Blob, in which the titular characters worked together to save the blob's home planet from evil.
