Vol. 3 Issue 2

Volume 3 - Issue 2

Gremlins 2 spawned on this issue's cover, and was one of two film sequel adaptations to be reviewed, the other being Ghostbusters II. However, unlike the latter game, Gremlins 2 eschewed the popular side-scroller genre to become an overhead adventure with platform and shooter elements. Players would control Gizmo the Mogwai as he tried to fight the evil Gremlins that had gotten loose. While not as revered as most NES games, Gremlins 2 does still have its fans.

One of the more interesting reviews in this issue was of Punch-Out!!. As some may have guessed from the title and year of this feature, this wasn't the famous Mike Tyson-starring game, but the revised version that replaced the former heavyweight champion with a new final boss called Mr. Dream, who was created especially for this game.
