Super Off-Road was given the cover illustration treatment for the first issue of 1991. This was a NES port of the truck-racing arcade game, and was one of the few NES games to support four-player multiplayer. However, it had some stiff competition in the category of 'most exciting NES game review', as this issue also included reviews on platforming classics Mega Man 2 and DuckTales.
Not to be left out, perhaps the most interesting game featured came from the humble Game Boy. Gargoyle's Quest was a spin-off adventure from the Ghosts 'N Goblins series starring Firebrand, a gargoyle based on the Red Arremer enemy (despite appearing to be green on the boxart!). The game became a cult hit, spawning two console-based sequels, Gargoyle's Quest II (NES) and Demon's Crest (SNES).
