This issue treated fans to a double dose of Double Dragon, with features on both the original game and its sequel. The first game started off as a spin-off to Taito's arcade game Renegade before evolving into its own series. The two games centre on brothers Billy and Jimmy Lee as they fight against the Black Warriors gang to rescue Billy's girlfriend, Marian.

Games for the newly-released Game Boy were starting to trickle out, with cult pinball hit Revenge of the 'Gator a particular highlight. However, things certainly looked a lot more interesting in the NES camp, with this issue featuring a review of classic Konami shooter Probotector, and 'Sneak Peeks' of Mega Man 2 and DuckTales, two of Capcom's most critically acclaimed NES games.
