Vol. 2 Issue 4

Volume 2 - Issue 4

Out of the two big media tie-ins featured in this issue, it was Batman that ended up as the cover story. Based on the Tim Burton film, the game followed Batman's attempts to halt the Joker's crimewave in Gotham City. Batman was tooled up with such familiar items as the Batarang, and even had the ability to do a nifty wall-jump that proved vital in progressing through the game.

The other big licensed game featured in this issue was Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles, based on the cartoon series of the same name (which in turn was based on cult comic book Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles). Players would switch between the four turtles and try to stop the evil plans of Shredder and the Foot Clan. Nowadays, it has gained a reputation for being excessively difficult, but some fans still hold a special place in their hearts for the video game debut of the 'heroes in a half-shell'.
