Vol. 2 Issue 3

Volume 2 - Issue 3

Simon Belmont and his whip grace this issue's cover with their presence. The sequel to Castlevania leaves fans divided to this day. Some enjoy its non-linear gameplay and opportunities to explore the Castlevania world outside of Dracula's castle. Others found the more obscure puzzles and lack of helpful hints from other characters to be infuriating (the game was infamous outside Japan for having the villagers give out nonsense clues instead of actual hints).

The NES version of Tetris was also featured in this issue. Created by software engineer Alexey Pajitnov, this addictive 'falling block' puzzle game barely needs explaining, as it has been developed and ported to nearly every popular computer and console going. The word 'iconic' gets thrown around a lot, but Tetris is truly deserving of the label.
