Four issues in, and now The Legend of Zelda gets its own cover, even if Link is shown with his back to the readers! The first game in the Zelda series was a wide-open adventure, where players were free to explore to world of Hyrule, and tackle the eight dungeons in any order they wished. Although the plot was basic - find the eight fragments of the mystical Triforce of Wisdom, defeat Ganon, and rescue Princess Zelda - this first instalment laid the key groundwork that future games in the series would follow.
If all the gun-toting and sword-swinging of most games was too much, this issue also covered its fair share of sports games. Tennis and Golf were as simple as their names, while Track & Field II brought the excitement of Olympic sports to the NES. To top it off, WWF Wrestlemania marked the famous wrestling league's NES debut, bringing with it fan favourite stars such as Andre the Giant, Randy Savage, and Hulk Hogan!
