Despite the title, this special edition of Club Nintendo magazine was as much about celebrating the future as it was the past. Much of the magazine was dedicated to maps, guides, and assorted tips on such NES classics as Super Mario Brothers, The Legend of Zelda, and Metroid, to name but a few. But the NES wasn't the only console Nintendo had brought to the UK by this time.
Alongside the much-loved home console, there was also extended coverage of the newly-released Game Boy and its early selection of games. Super Mario Land was at the head of the Game Boy section, along with fellow launch classic Tetris. These two games alone would come to define early Game Boy gaming; graphically basic, but immensely fun.
