Vol. 4 Issue 6

Volume 4 - Issue 6

Despite featuring Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past among its SNES reviews, it was Street Fighter II that made the cover for this issue. The SNES port of the arcade classic was considered the definitive home version at the time - especially since Sega's Mega Drive wouldn't get a version for a few years - so it was perhaps understandable for Nintendo, and its fans, to rave over this release.

Other key SNES games featured included ports of Lemmings and Sim City, and the latest in the TMHT series, Turtles in Time. Meanwhile, the Game Boy saw the sequel to Super Mario Land released. Super Mario Land 2: Six Golden Coins' biggest contribution to the series was the introduction of Wario, who - despite debuting as a villain - would go on to attain cult status and star in his own series of side-scrolling platformers.
