Vol. 4 Issue 4

Volume 4 - Issue 4

While Mega Man 3 was the cover story of this issue, it was fair to say that the real main story was the UK release of the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. True to its 'Super' prefix, this console was a huge upgrade over the original NES, with launch games such as Super Mario World and F-Zero helping to demonstrate its amazing power while being incredibly fun games at the same time. In time, many will come to consider the SNES as one of the greatest video game consoles ever released.

Meanwhile, there was a double-whammy of Game Boy sequels to NES games in the form of Metroid II: Return of Samus and Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters. Unfortunately for Kid Icarus fans, the latter would turn out to be the series' last game for two decades until the release of Kid Icarus: Uprising on the 3DS.
